CosMeet 2024: A Cosplay Trick or Treat
CosMeet 2024 kicked off last weekend at Okada Manila, with the magic of anime and the old trick-or-treat. The event was held last October 26-27 at their lavish Cove Manila, known for its beautiful and clear glass dome building, allowing natural light perfect for great pictures and a fresh ambiance. And since the spooky season of Halloween drew near, it was all the more a perfect time to go out in cosplay and have fun! Here are some of my favorite highlights of CosMeet 2024:
Getting to see special guest Thames Malerose was one of the cool highlights of CosMeet. In his interview, he told his fans that sleeping and eating properly is his advice for keeping up with his cosplay hobbies and work. As a foodie myself, I totally agree!
I also got the amazing opportunity to meet professional doodle artist Lei Melendres. Seeing his artwork up close was one of my favorite parts of this event, and I am deeply honored to have met the artist in person!
CosMeet 2024 is easily one of my favorite events because of how dreamy and fancy the place is. You see, Cove Manila is renowned as Southeast Asia’s largest and grandest entertainment space enclosed in a glass dome. It’s a beach club by day and a nightclub by evening. Okada Manila boasts of its extraordinary, one-of-a-kind, world-class amenities and equipment. Most importantly, the place is customizable — the exhibit and free-roam floor was a platform on top of the swimming pool. Pretty cool, right? The lobby area had a lot of gorgeous tables, benches, and hangouts too.
Unlike other venues with wacky lighting and settings, Okada’s architecture and Cove Manila’s glass dome gave the best vibes! As a cosplay event, CosMeet provides a unique experience. My favorite time was the sunset, of course.
The next event by Cosplay.ph is the year-ender, Cosplay Matsuri, happening through December 28-30, 2024 at the SMX Convention Center. See you there!
