The Disney Twisted-Wonderland: The Animation anime finally revealed some new information, including the first visual for the series. It has already confirmed 3 seasons, which will stream exclusively on Disney+ (Disney Plus). Season 1 set to release in October 2025.

The anime will cover the three manga adaptations, with each of the seasons sharing their names:

• Season 1: Episode of Heartslabyul
• Season 2: Episode of Savanaclaw
• Season 3: Episode of Octavinelle

The visual features the seven dorm leaders, each of whom is inspired by an iconic Disney villain:

• Riddle Rosehearts – Leader of the Heartslabyul dorm, inspired by the Queen of Hearts (Alice in Wonderland)
• Leona Kingscholar – Leader of the Savanaclaw dorm, inspired by Scar (The Lion King).
• Azul Ashengrotto – Leader of the Octavinelle dorm, inspired by Ursula (The Little Mermaid).
• Kalim Al-Asim – Leader of the Scarabia dorm, inspired by the Sultan (Aladdin).
• Vil Schoenheit – Leader of the Pomefiore dorm, inspired by the Evil Queen (Snow White).
• Idia Shroud – Leader of the Ignihyde dorm, inspired by Hades (Hercules).
• Malleus Draconia – Leader of the Diasomnia dorm, inspired by Maleficent (Sleeping Beauty).

Studios Yumeta Company and Graphinica will be in charge of the animation, with Shin Katagai as the director. The rest of the main staff includes Takahiro Natori as chief director, Yoichi Kato on the script, and Hanaka Nakano and Akane Sato as character designers.

Yana Toboso, the original creator of the Black Butler manga series, is credited for the character design, concept, and scenario for the Disney Twisted-Wonderland game, which was created by Aniplex and Walt Disney Japan. The game was released in Japan on March 18, 2020, while the English localization followed on January 20, 2022.

The first manga adaptation, titled Disney Twisted-Wonderland the Comic: Episode of Heartslabyul was written by Wakana Hazuki and illustrated by Sumire Kowono. It was serialized in Square Enix’s Monthly G Fantasy magazine from March 18 to October 2022 and compiled into 4 volumes. The second one is Episode of Savanaclawwritten and illustrated by Suzuka Oda. It began serialization in the same magazine in December 2022 and is currently ongoing with 2 volumes out as of July 2024.

The third one, Episode of Octavinelleis written by Hazuki and illustrated by Kowono. It began serialization in the same magazine on August 18, 2023. It also has 2 released volumes and is currently ongoing. Besides the manga adaptations, the game also got two novel adaptations by Jun Hioki. The anime was announced in October 2021.

VIZ Media licensed the first manga adaptation in English as Disney Twisted-Wonderland: The Manga – Book of Heartslabyuldescribing its story:
