Grand Blue Gets Season 2 TV Anime

Grand Blue Season 2 TV anime has been announced 6 years since the ending of Season 1. The announcement was made at a special radio show for the manga’s 10th anniversary. A teaser visual was also released, featuring all the main cast celebrating.

Grand Blue Dreamingknown as Grand Blueis a Japanese manga series written by Kenji Inoue and illustrated by Kimitake Yoshioka. It has been serialized in Kodansha’s Good! Afternoon magzine since April 2014. The first anime TV series was animated by Zero-G, running from July to September 2018.

The main anime staff had Takamatsu Shinji as the director, with Kusama Hideoki serving both as the character designer and chief animation director and Ueda Yoichi as the chief animation director. The music was composed by Manual of Errors. The voice cast for the anime included:

  • Ryouhei Kimura as Kouhei Imamura
  • Chika Anzai as Chisa Kotegawa
  • Hiroki Yasumoto as Shinji Tokita
  • Katsuyuki Konishi as Ryujiro Kotobuki
  • Toa Yukinari as Azusa Hamaoka
  • Maaya Uchida as Nanaka Kotegawa
  • Kana Asumi as Aina Yoshihara
  • Robert Waterman as Kenta Fujiwara
  • Shinji Kawada as Toshio Kotegawa

The franchise also has a live-action movie, which was released in August 2020.

Kodansha licensed the manga in English, with Crunchyroll streaming the anime. The story follows Iori Kitahara, who moves away to a seaside town after graduating from an all-boys high school. He ends up working at his uncle’s dive shop, as well as actually getting into the hobby with some quite crazy senpais. He will go through the booze-filled college life, making a bunch of friends while making everyone laugh at the craziness of their adventures.
