Japanese Musician Sayuri Passes Away at 28

The Japanese musician Sayuri has passed away at the age of 28. Her husband shared the news on X (formerly Twitter), stating that she died on September 20. Her funeral was held privately with close relatives and acquaintances, and you can read his full statement below.

We would like to humbly inform everyone who has been supporting Sayuri that she passed away on September 20th.

She was 28 years old.

In accordance with the wishes of her family, the funeral was held privately with only close relatives and acquaintances present.

We sincerely thank you for your kind support of Sayuri during her lifetime, and we would like to pray for her eternal peace along with you.

We kindly ask the members of the media to respect the family’s deep grief and to refrain from contacting them or seeking interviews with related individuals.

Additionally, as Sayuri was active as a freelancer, we have been receiving fan letters and other correspondence at the live production company’s office. We kindly ask that you refrain from sending any further messages of condolence at this time.

The two gotmarried in March of this year, where Sayuri stated “It was the first time I felt reassured looking someone in the eyes. The warmth was irreplaceable to me, and I felt like I had touched one of the beautiful possibilities hidden in this world.” In a follow-up tweether husband also shared that the young artist had been passionate about music despite battling a chronic illness.

He also said that he was happy to have been he husband despite her proposal being sudden and him becoming the chief mourner after a year. He concluded with:

I love you.
