One Piece Novel Straw Hat Stories by Tomohito Ohsaki Gets Anime Directed by Megumi Ishitani
One Piece novel Straw Hat Stories by Tomohito Ohsaki is getting an anime adaptation directed by Megumi Ishitani, and it will premiere on October 20 in the regular ONE PIECE timeslot. The story takes place on the Sabaody Archipelago, two years after the Paramount War where Luffy lost his brother Ace. The protagonist is a young girl who admires Nami and has a small adventure of her own.
The anime episode is titled “ONE PIECE FAN LETTER,” and you can check out the teaser trailer below.
Besides Megumi Ishitani as the director, “ONE PIECE FAN LATTER” will have Keisuke Mori as the character designer/animation director and Momoka Toyoda handling the script. Tomohito Ohsaki wrote the novel in 2017, and it focuses on normal people who are “not pursuing the One Piece.” It features 9 short stories about each of the Straw Hat Pirates, as well as the crew’s reunion the perspective of those ‘normal’ people. The story about the girl looking up to Nami is one of the novel’s stories.
This is coming as yet another project celebrating ONE PIECE’s 25th anniversary. Some of the previous projects included a compilation video of the entire anime so far, taking over the Sphere in Las Vegas, a new clothing collaboration with UNIQLO, among others.
