SONIC THE HEDGEHOG 3 movie has revealed a new trailer ahead of its December 20 premiere. Paramount Pictures and Sega also announced an opening day fan event, which will take place on Thursday, December 19. Fans at the one-night event will get to see additional behind the scenes content, as well as receive limited-edition gifts. General ticketsas well as those for the fan event are now on sale.

Director Jeff Fowler returns, along with the main cast including Jim Carrey, Ben Schwartz, James Marsden, Tika Sumpter, Idris Elba, Colleen O’Shaughnessey, Natasha Rothwell, Shemar Moore, Adam Pally, Lee Majdoub, newcomers Alyla Browne and Krysten Ritter. Keanu Reeves has also joined the franchise as Shadow the Hedgehog.

The official synopsis for SONIC THE HEDGEHOG 3:
Sonic the Hedgehog returns to the big screen this holiday season in his most thrilling adventure yet. Sonic, Knuckles, and Tails reunite against a powerful new adversary, Shadow, a mysterious villain with powers unlike anything they have faced before. With their abilities outmatched in every way, Team Sonic must seek out an unlikely alliance in hopes of stopping Shadow and protecting the planet.

The SONIC THE HEDGEHOG live-action/CGI series is an adaptation of Sega’s iconic video game franchise. The first film, directed by Jeff Fowler, was released on February 14, 2020, and follows Sonic teaming up with a small-town sheriff to stop Dr. Robotnik. The sequel, SONIC THE HEDGEHOG 2premiered on April 8, 2022, adding Tails and Knuckles to the story.

SONIC X SHADOW GENERATIONS game released on October 25 this year, giving more spotlight to Shadow.
